"Love your bell. I typically get thanked multiple times by hikers and horse riders for the heads up and non-irritating sound. On my ride last week I got thanked by two horse riders for the bell. "
"Going down in history as one of the top five inventions for mountain biking (just behind dropper posts)!"
"I live in North Vancouver Canada, where there's a lot of black bears and grumpy hikers and this bell is great for letting them know there's a mountain biker near by."
"I moved from Tahoe to Park City a year ago.. there are so many trails here!! And a lot are narrow and blind single tracks.. I can’t tell you the number of times your bell has saved my hide from at least starting deer and moose and most full on collisions."
"Thank you for making this product I literally don’t know how I have been riding all these years with this mandatory safety dinger thing. Trail life is night and day more enjoyable being thanked for having a bell vs being screamed at for going too fast and scaring people."
"I have only had my timber bell for a few months but it has been fantastic. I ride in the Los Angeles area and the trails can get really crowded. The hikers hear me coming and get out of the way. They usually say I sound like the ice cream truck. :) "
"We LOVE these bells, and we keep ‘em ringing on all the trails we ride… It’s like Moses parting the Red Sea… Hikers, dog walkers, and other trail users yield the trail when we ride with our Timber bells ringing! Truly remarkable. They should be mandatory equipment on every bike here on the crowded front range."
"One of the best mountain bike products I have purchased in a while.. Last time I had a bell on a bike I was 4yrs old.. It really gets the attention of hikers / walkers on the trails..and just give me a chuckle every time I flip it on.."
"I absolutely love my Timber bell and the innovation you put into your design. As a XC/endurance racer guy, I never thought I'd use a bell on my bike, but when I saw your bell in action I was sold. I can't begin to tell you the number of hikers who have thanked me for having a bell during many of my rides. So, thank you for making such an awesome product!"
"I just returned from a 5 day MTB trip to Park City UT. As usual my Timber bell was strapped onto my bar. Park City trails have a combination of bikers and hikers. I received many compliments and kudos from the hikers...they like the bell clearly warning them of a rider coming along the trail. Many of the riders also provided positive feedback as the trails there have a lot of vegetation coverage and you come up quick on each other due to lack of visibility."
"I love the product, and I’m a total evangelist every chance I get. I can’t tell you how many hikers I’ve had actually thank me (or cheer me on standing there as I roost a corner) because they’ve not had to panic to get out of the way. And it’s held up pretty well - even superglued it once last season (and I’ll certainly be doing that again) to get some more mileage out of it."
"Great product I can fully get behind. Having bells here in Santa Barbara, as you may know, is the only things keeping us from having cranky hikers throw us off the trails. That and being nice to them. Also, my friends (and me historically) are always forgetting their bells. The Timber bell is a no brainer."
"I want to start off by saying, thanks so much for coming up with this bell. The idea is great and truly, I can't even count the number of times hikers, who have already stepped out of the trail and were actually smiling when encountering a bike, have said "we love your bell!". It is one of the most valuable additions to my bike since the seat dropper, especially since it is an easy way to build/maintain relationships with other trail users."
"I love the bell you have designed. i am a happy customer 5 stars from me all day. I have had several people thank me for using the Bell. Some feedback on the bell was "We heard you about 50 yards out. way sooner then we saw you. Thanks for being responsible sharing the trails." Another "WOW! Are there Bears here? - Thanks for having bell. You definitely didn't sneak up on us like that guy yesterday. He scared us."
"Let me begin by telling you how great this bell is. I come around corners and people are already out of the way and thank me. I hear people comment on it all the time and are so appreciative. People hear me coming from a distance and there's no last minute awkward or close encounter to maneuver. Love not having to physically actuate the bell and take my hand off the bars in techy sections. Have all my friends running them and people ask me about it all the time."
"Seriously - this is the best invention I've seen for bikes in years :-)"
"I've been telling my more Strava obsessed friends to buy one of these so we don't get banished from the trails."
"I came across your bell in a bike shop and it's the best thing since putting a dropper on my bike. Well done. What an elegantly executed solution!"
"Seriously, I absolutely LOVE this bell. I use it all the time on my MTB and gravel adventures. I get a ton of "thank you's" and piece of mind knowing that I don't need to worry about catching other cyclists, hikers, horses, or pooches by surprise. Matter of fact, I've been known to turn around and go back home to grab my bell when I've accidentally left it behind!"
"This bell has been a life saver (maybe literally) since I do most of my riding on trails that are multi-use (hike, ride, equestrian). Countless times I've been shredding around a turn and come across a hiker or biker already off to the side since they could hear my bell ringing. Even when riding casually, it's loud enough for others to hear and I've often been complimented, thanking me for having a bell."
"The very first ride I took it on was Mr. Toad's up at Lake Tahoe. A backpacker tipped me off about a bear in the area so I turned the bell on. About a mile later I ended up between TWO bears - one walking uphill and parallel to me and the other just off the trail in a gully. They didn't even look at me, just kept on about their bear business. If didn't have the bell, would I have been mauled? We'll never know, but I was glad I gave them a head's up anyway."
"I love the product, and I’m a total evangelist every chance I get. I can’t tell you how many hikers I’ve had actually thank me (or cheer me on standing there as I roost a corner) because they’ve not had to panic to get out of the way."
"My bell is incredibly important in keeping the peace on our local trails. On my ride yesterday I scared a runner when I was coming around a corner and although I would have never collided with him, he certainly did not know that, and it was lucky he didn't go down when I startled him."
"Issues with multiple trail users as well as blind corners makes a bell almost mandatory. I have two of your bells already. Initially I was reluctant to be that noisy guy on the trail - one nice thing was that I could turn it off at certain points - but what sealed the deal was when hikers would thank me and ask how they too could get one."
"I do love my Timberbell. The ringing sweet warnings to the unassuming critters on the mountainIt have prevented me from many collisions of up-hill bikers, and if I had to guess, I see less large wildlife because of it, too (which for mountain lions and bears I'm good with). No more having to yell out 'Hey Bear’."
"The local trail I ride has plenty of hikers with blind corners and they all seem to appreciate hearing me coming in a not so annoying way. This bell is awesome, letting it go silent when need be or ringing away when I approach people, keeping me focused on keeping control of my bike instead of dinging the other kind."
"Thank you all for making and supporting the world’s best Mountain Bike Bell. I have had a Timber on my last two bikes. I use the timber for everyone else, to be polite and let them know I’m coming. Most of the time I keep it silenced on our secluded trails, but wherever there may be hikers or other bikers I turn it on out of respect for their safety."
"I get thanked by hikers almost every ride for using this bell. If I were a bike shop I'd include one of these with every new bike sold."
"Love the bell. We live in NW Montana so it helps keep the cute cuddly grizzly bears away."
"Almost every ride someone a hiker will say how much they appreciate the bell. I feel naked if I rent or demo a bike and I forget to bring my bell."
"The TImber bell has been one of the best investments I’ve made in mountain biking South Mountain, AZ. Huge rock features with blind corners and hundreds of hikers flocking to the trails when the temps are nice. I’ve had countless thank you’s from hikers who frequent the trails."
"Thanks for making such a great MTB bell !!! I use it frequently on our MTB rides in Crystal Cove State Park to alert hikers we’re coming up behind them… and also hikers & MTBers we’re coming at them on twisty singletrack."
"I wanted to share how happy I am with the TIMBER bell I just received. I've hunted for a long time for a good MTB bell and this is by far the best. I'm a big proponent of riding with a bell off road. I find I ride faster and have more fun knowing people can hear me coming. It's also a much nicer way to alert hikers and generally is met with smiles."
"All of us really like your bells. Previously, we've had other bells that require active action on the part of the riders. That has been okay for us more experienced and older riders. But for the kids, that is really a lot of added complexity. Your Timber! bells are effortless. One of the things that we are working on with the kids is trail etiquette, and the Timber! Mountain Bike Bells are a tremendous tool for reminding everyone to be courteous and share the trails with everyone. All of the ride leaders on the NICA team for this area are now riding with your bells, and almost all of the Mountain Bike Patrollers are riding with them. They are very pleasant to hear and give a nice warning as we wind through switchbacks and dense growth. It is rare that we don't receive compliments from runners, hikers and fellow cyclists. All of us believe that the mere presence of the Timber! bells on the bikes makes the entire trail experience happier and more polite."
"I love my Timber Bell! With all of the 2 way shared trails in New Mexico it is so nice to be able to turn it on when I am entering heavily trafficked areas or places with lots of blind corners and know that other trail users are going to be able to hear me before they can see me without me having to constantly adjust my grip flick the bell. It is great to have that same bell be silent when I am climbing in wide open areas where my speed is slow and I know that other trail users will be aware of me well before I get there. Some of my riding partners have teased me about it but they quickly change their minds the first time they see hikers moving to the side of the trail or heeling their dogs well before we get to them and exchange friendly waves and smiles."
"I can't tell you how much I absolutely love my timber Bell. I got to tell you I feel like it's such a responsible thing to have. Especially when I'm riding trails where there's a lot more hikers. I have had hikers tell me thank you for the Bell I've been writing and come around tight corners where there's not a lot of visibility and hikers or families even with dogs are standing off to the side waiting for us to ride by because they heard us coming. And I feel like I don't have to yell around blind corners anymore saying biker biker biker! People seem to really appreciate the Bell and it makes me feel like I'm dispelling the often ill reputation that bikers have I've not looking out for others or sharing the trail responsibly. I also love that when I'm coming up behind somebody that doesn't hear me I can just wiggle my bike and ring the bell people hear it they see me coming and get off to the side and often say nice things. What a great invention. Thank you for making my life better my biking experience is more enjoyable and making this a better world."
"When I am riding down a technical section, I can't ring a normal bell. I have seen hikers and bikers moved aside before I came around a blind corner many times. So... great product!"
"I do love this gizmo as I ride where there are occasionally bears in NJ (yes, there are plenty of bear in north NJ!!) so because I ride with my dog often I have a bell for him too although not a Timber brand."
"This product is an absolute life saver for biking here in the Phoenix area. Sharing trails is good for everyone, but the advantage of the timber bell helps me ride faster downhill and lets hikers know something is around the corner."
"I get more trail compliments on the bell than anything else on my bike!"
"I love your product. I tell everyone about it. I call it the "DROPPER-POST" of bells."
"It has saved my life from both bears and moose - no joke!"
"Thanks for making the sickest bells that all my friends are jealous of, cheehooo!"
"I love your bell and hikers love it even more as they are constantly thanking me for using it."
"Great product, possibly the highest bang for buck accessory I’ve owned for my bike!"
"I love the bell. Originally it was purchased for riding in MT and bear awareness, but I feel like it is even better for rides on popular trails to let other bikers and hikers know that you are around. We often get compliments on the bell from hikers and a big thank you for having it to let them know we are coming."
"I Love This Bell! I’m located in northern NJ. Trails have been so congested this year with hikers do to COVID . This bell is a blessing! People love it! Everyone moves out of the way when they hear me ripping and then complement me on having a amazing approach devise."
"The riders I pass refer to me as the Ice Cream Man because of the bell! The hikers and horse back riders love me for the bell! I enjoy the positive feed back from the hikers and equestrian crowd ! Keep up the good work - A Colorado rider ."
"I definitely love my bell. Helps keep the vortex searchers in Sedona aware of my presence!"
"It's the best solution I've found for busy canal towpaths."
"Absolutely love it and don’t want to pedal without it!!! It has saved me from a few collisions!!"
"This is the best bell out there. Hikers always thank me, the bell sounds pleasant and I can shut it off when climbing or on the road. After a couple close calls with hikers a few of my buddies have gotten one as well. Well worth the small price for safety & sanity on the trails."
"I think these things are mandatory for riding CO Front Range trails as we get lots of traffic. Every ride hikers and riders tell me they appreciate the warning a rider is coming. As a bonus, I get longer downhills as folks will often yield well before they are visible. "
"Why your bells are awesome: horses and horse people thank me for using it. hikers are able to hear me barreling down a hill (attached to the bike or not). it keeps the coyotes and bobcats and mountain lions and bears at bay."
"I love your bell! Just the right amount of "loudness" and convenience. And I'm not the only one who loves it, I get comments from hikers about it, too."
"Totally love my timber bell! Got it at the last Sedona mtn bike fest and have been singing its praises to everyone I know!"
"I can't count the number of my guiding and coaching clients who have inquired about how clever the bell is, it must be in the hundreds since I began my mtb business in 2014."
"I have been looking for such bell for quite some time. Finally I bought two (2) of yours, installed them on our bikes, and...they are still on! The product is of high quality, looks awesome, works beautifully and despite taking it on some “flipping over the handle” kind of rides, it remained in position. Love the fact the tone level can be adjusted and even muted, and love it's high pitch, though rounded sound. The device is perfect! Well done guys!"
"Just got my bell today and went for a ride. It is one of the best and simplest items I have ever purchased. I recently became dissatisfied with my Incredibells on my families bikes (4) and had just dropped about $50 for 4 fancy brass Rockbros bells on Ebay. I realized why I never use bells on my DH runs as it takes too much attention away from riding to use them. In addition they are inadequate to warn hikers from a distance. The Timber bell took 1 minute to mount up and the cowbell sound is great. I love the easy to use switch to turn it on and off. Perfect ergos."
"I recently purchased four of your Mountain Bike Bells (Bolt-On Model) for our family. Riding the trails of Colorado, we are definitely bell people. My wife is a bike coach and ride leader for a NICA team, and I'm a MTB patroller (and ski patroller) for a resort here, and we love your bells. We converted over from the style that you manually ring to Timber, so that we have a more passive ringing system."
"I lost count of how many times I've come around a blind corner and there was a hiker I hadn't seen standing off the trail looking at me because they heard me coming well before I saw them. I've also gotten quite a few "love the bell" comments from hikers, and never got those before with my thumb-activated bell. I greatly enjoy not having to shift my grip to ring a bell while riding (especially downhill where I like to have my hands covering the brakes) - seems much safer for me. The only time I've been keeping it 'on' the whole time is leading group rides, which helps keep the tail-end from getting lost."
"I absolutely love this bell design! It is the best one I have ever used and I have recommended it to all my friends. I live in South Lake Tahoe CA. and ride at least 3 times a week and I cannot tell you how many times hikers on the trail have thanked me for using the Timber! On one occasion I scarred a mama bear and her cub off the trail and avoided a collision with them! That would have been one of the worst days ever and instead I simply kept shredding down the trail. One of my favorite things is when several of my friends have a Timber! and we are all riding downhill together and I think it must sound like a small train barreling down. Super cool and safe! "
"I honestly used the crap out of this and have made converts out of a group of my riding buddies. I recommend this bell every chance I get. Hikers thank me all the time for it and other bikers get out of my way like I'm an emergency vehicle or something. It's sorta uncanny how it changes hikers and bikers attitudes. I also had a bad trail head-on collision back in the 90's so I appreciate giving the forward warning."
"When I first started using bells I wanted something exactly like this and I'm so glad you made it. Being able to not only turn it off/on but modulate the volume on the fly is critical. The tone/timbre is perfect, I've used jingly bear bells and the deeper cow bell like Awareness bell, and your bell has the perfect in between pitch. Not only is it easier to hear but its also less obnoxious. Best of all it is small, sleek, unobtrusive and looks just right on my carbon wonder bike. Thanks for making the perfect product. Even the price is right."
"Many of the trails I ride consistently have a lot of blind corners, hikers, horseback riders, and other animals (hello, moose) and the Timber Bell has been an absolute game-changer for me as far as not frightening people, animals, etc. while also letting downhill riders know I’m on my way up. My partner and I also use them to keep track of one another (if you can still hear the bell, no one is lost or on the ground!). We have received endless compliments and thank you’s from other trail users and I consider Timber Bell to be an essential piece of gear."
"This bell does wonders for park visitors here in Jefferson County, Colorado. We're flooded with way too many people and not enough trails. Your bell has made significant differences for both riders and other users of the open space. The proof is shown when blind corners are turned to see people off of the trail to avoid conflict. Many times people thank me for the bell as I'm passing (at a safe speed)."
"I absolutely love my Timber. Many people comment about it while I’m riding — usually thankful hikers and occasional comedic attempts about the ice cream man. My bell broke on my ride today and the silence afterward was weird! Unfortunately without my bell, I scared a nice older couple on the trail. It immediately reminded me how much I like having my timber in action!"
"Big fan, long time user. I love these bells for their ability to be turned on and off. Climb with them off and flip the lever for the downhill. Once I hear that ring-a-ling-ding it's game on. I feel invincible knowing everyone can hear me coming. Hikers and equestrians, no problem. Bears and mt lions, no problem. Ebike riders climbing the downhill single track no.... Well you get the point."
